SPESSARTITE on FELDSPAR

ROSINA DIKE, SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA - Spessartite is quite uncommon inside the pegmatites of Isola Elba and the only specimens found were collected while working at the rosina dike in 1994. This specimen is from that finding and shows several quartz and great bright feldspar crystals up to 2.5 cm with half a dozen spessartite crystals close to them. The spessartite show the classic orange color and are up to 0.7 cm ! overall size is 5x7x5 cm.

The last one was in 1994 when the Rosina dike was found and exhausted ! This specimen is from that finding. Nice, gemmy, orange in color spessartite crystals show up on the white feldspars ! there are half a dozen crystals up to 2-3 mm. Overall size is 6x6x3 cm

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - A classic and rare specimen from Isola Elba ! spessartine crystals have not been found in the last years since the last pocket exausted. The color of spessartines is orange and the largest crystal is up to 0.8 cm ! There are various tourmalines and feldspars around also. Overall size is 7x7x5 cm.

SPESSARTINE and TOURMALINE

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - This is one of the spessartine specimen of the 1994 finding from San Piero area. The specimen has several orange spessartine crystals up to 0.5 cm inside an open cavity and all around together with orthoclase crystals.There are also various small tourmalines. Overall size is 7x5.5x5.5 cm.
