SCHORL, SPESSARTINE and QUARTZ

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - A large terminated quartz crystal up to 2.6 cm dominates this rock om which there are also some bright orange spessartine crystals to the size of 2 mm. There is also a 0.7 cm large terminated shorl crystal. Overall size is 4.5x4x3.5 cm.

ELBAITE

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - Perfectly terminated elbaite crystal of 1.6 cm in size. A nice bicolor crystal, bown and yellow. There is an other elbaite with similar color on its left side. Overall size of this showy specimen 3.5x3x2 cm.

MORGANITE, QUARTZ and K-FEKDSPAR

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - Among the centimetric feldspars and quartz crystals there is a lightpink/grey morganite. The morganite is located close to a quartz crystal and shows a perfect tabular termination. The crystal is 4 mm wide and emerges for 0.5 cm out of the crowded crystalline area where is located. There are a lot of feldspars around, up to 1.5-1.8 cm on the edge. Overall size is 7x7x6.5 cm.

ELBAITE, K-FELDSPAR and QUARTZ

FILONE DEI PASTORI, SANT ILARIO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - This locality has been worked in 2004 and now is exhausted. It produced interesting specimens, such as helvite and morganite crystals. This specimen hosts a terminated bicolor elbaite of 0.6 cm. There is an other similar elbaite partly hidden below a quartz crystal. All around there various quartz and feldspar crystals. Overall size is 5x4x3 cm.

ELBAITE, K-FELDSPAR and QUARTZ

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - Various terminated elbaite crystals show up on this rock. The elbaites are up to 0.6 cm, and have a dark brown color, well visible if exposed against the light. All are terminated. There also various k-feldspar and quartz crystals to the size of 0.8 cm. Overall size is 5x4.5x3 cm.
