ELBAITE var RUBELLITE

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - Showy specimen characterized by the presence of 3 perfectly terminated pink elbaite (rubellites). The crystals are undamaged and perfectly terminated and up to the size of 0.8 cm ! On the back of the specimen thare are quartz crystals and other smaller elbaite, close to acroite for the waterclear color ! the elbaites are gemmy ! lot of micro zeolites all around ! overall size of the specimen is 8x4.5x4 cm.

PETALITE

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - Offmatrix large petalite crystal ! Usually petalite is quickly degradated inside the pockets due to the idrothermal actions. Due to this is real rare to find an integer or just naturally hetched crystals as this one ... but sometimes we are lucky ! And here it is a typical petalite crystal from the Elba pegmatites ! the crystal is complete, no damage and 3x2x1.2 cm in size

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - Very rich specimen ! Indeed it hosts half a dozen yellow in color elbaites, and the biggest is greatly exposed and visible ! This elbaite is perfectly terminated and 1.1 cm in height ! The others are nicely located close to quartz crystals. Very showy specimen of 5x4x2.5 cm

ELBAITE var RUBELLITE

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - Showy specimen characterized by the presence of 3 perfectly terminated pink elbaite (rubellites). The crystals are undamaged and perfectly terminated and up to the size of 0.7 cm ! One of them is hiding on the back of a terminated quartz crystal while the other is well visble ! the color is pink but the base of the elbaites is close to a light green color. Around there are other elbaites: one of these is a 1.5 cm long crystal trapped among the orthoclases ! the main orthoclase is 2.5 cm on the edge. Overall size is 7x6x6 cm.

SPESSARTITE on ORTHOCLASE

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - Spessartite is not so common inside the pegmatites of San Piera, Isola Elba, but sometimes … it happens to find it ! This specimen shows a nice coverage of orange spessartite crystals to the size of 0.4 cm ! Great color and really showy specimen ! overall size is 7.5x6.5x4 cm

ELBAITE var RUBELLITE

FOSSO FORCIONI, SANT ILARIO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - Forcioni is one of the oldest areas for elbaites. This is a specimen from an old collection, now dispersed, and being the owner passed at more than 87 yrs of age ... probably it should be found at the beginning of last century, when the Elba quarries were still operated. Almost an hystorical rock ! This nice specimen has 3 elbaites up to 0.8 cm and !! The elbaites from Forcioni have always the typical natural hetching on the top and recrystallization. Real showy specimen of 6x6x3.5 cm
